Revlon Matte Balm Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! I haven't blogged since Sunday and I'm so sad about that. Things were just not working outl but I'm back! I recently purchased a couple of the new Revlon Matte Balms and I'm here to show you some swatches and my review! If you want to see more about these, click below!

I purchased 4 shades, from top to bottom: Complex, Showy, Shamless & Striking.

Complex is a nude that pulls quite orange-y

Showy is a bright bubblegum pink

Striking is a bright red.

Shameless is a dark, grape purple.

I've read a lot of reviews on these, some positive, some negative. I am on the positive side. First impressions of these: I love the packaging, besides being cute, it's a twist-up crayon which is convienent. It has a light minty scent which I also love. The scent only stays for a little while, and you do feel it on your lips at first. Not as much as, say, Burt's Bees but it's still noticeable.

Now, I have very dry lips. None of these accentuate my dry lips, except for Complex. But I think that's more so because my lips are quite pigmented and Complex is the most sheer of the bunch. Also, these keep my lips feeling moisturized without feeling thick or sticky at all. They're like nothing I've ever tried, they are extremely light and comfortable to wear. They wear for 3+ hours, but after eating and drinking they wear off. But every one except Complex left a nice stain on my lips. My favorites are Showy and Striking. Shamless is finicky, I found it to be a bit streaky and had to apply 3-4 layers to get even coverage. It is opaque, just more slick than the rest and I think that's why more coats were needed. Also, I wouldn't really call any of these totally matte, but Shamless is more shiny than matte. Complex just isn't for me, I tend to stray away from peach/orange nude lip colors because they just don't look good on me. The swatches looked beautiful on others though so I gave it a shot.

Pros:

Smooth, light formula

Good variety of color choices

Affordable (I've seen them for 5-8$, I paid 5)

Moisturizing without feeling heavy

Doesn't accentuate my dry lips

Cute packaging :)

Cons:

Actual product does come off easily while eating/drinking

Darker shades may be streaky

So obviously I really love these. They also come in Lacquer formula but I'm more of a matte girl. I think I'm going to be wearing showy and striking a lot! Have you tried any of these out, and what did you think of them? I hope you all enjoyed this review, thank you for reading!! Xox
