Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder Review

Today I wanted to post a quick review on a product I picked up a few weeks ago, the Urban Decay De-Slick Powder. I bought this the same day I got my Vice 2 Palette, but wanted to use it for a few weeks before I reviewed it. If you want to see what I think of it, click below :)

Packaging

Id like to start with the packaging, it's a beautiful dark purple compact. It has a lot of weight to it which I like. It has a really pretty rose fillagree design with their logo on the front. The inside has a nice mirror, and a soft puff for applying the product with a shiny pleather side embossed with the UD logo. Much nicer than just a plain jane puff you get in most compacts. The packaging of this is what completely sold me. I am a for a pretty package and this does not dissapoint.

Product

The product itself does not dissapoint either. The powder is said to be a light lavender color but it just looks white to me. It's translucent, no white cast on me. It's very fine and light and contains rice powder, so it absorbs excess oil very well! I think this product is great for those of us blessed with oily skin. When I powder my face with it, it doesn't look cakey or powdery at all, just absorbs any oil. I won't say this is some miracle product that keeps you matte all day long, but I do think its a great mattifying powder and keeps me oil free longer than just using my regular powder. I do really love this product, not only because it works well, but because the packaging is just beautiful. I will continue to use this compact just for the mirror once the powder is gone. It is a bit pricy, $32.00. But it do think it's worth it if you want a nice powder for oily skin and a cute compact!

I'm starting a mission to find good products to tame my oily skin. I think this is a good starting point for anyone because a moisturizer or primer could potentially break you out and I've found powders have always been a safe bet for my sensitive skin. It's different for everyone though.

I think this product is great and if you want to splurge on a nice mattifying powder, I suggest this one! I hope you enjoyed my review, and thank you so much for reading!

  1. This is a great review! I have used the De Slick setting spray before and I thought it worked pretty well, but I have always wondered about this powder!

  2. Looks great and super cute!! But it is a little pricey. At that price, it probably should last almost all day!! Darn oily skin!

    1. Yes! I use it everyday! But I don't like to keep it in my makeup bag to travel with because It always opens on me. I do love that powder though!
