Wet n Wild Color Icon Medley "No Neutral Ground" Review

Hello there! I'm back with a review on a palette I picked up this week from Wet n Wild. It's the Color Icon Eyeshadow Medley in No Neutral Ground. They released similar palettes this past spring but I didn't try any of those out. I bought two, and I'll have my review on the other one tomorrow! They had a buy one get one 50% off, so I paid 5 for one and 2.50 for the next, great deal! But did I like them? Click below for swatches and the review!

The palette comes with 8 shades. The idea is the middle row of shadows are for the lid, they are a pearl/satin finish. The top row is meant for the browbone, shimmer finish. The bottom 2 shades are meant to be used as liners, and have a matte finish.

Of course I swatched these backwards and didn't think about it! All of the shadows are slightly chalky unfortunately. The first two shades are the matte eyeliners, a dark green and a dark cool brown. They are the most pigmented, and feel very soft in the pan. The next three are the pearl lid colors. They have a nice satin/ pearl finish. There is a green, light bronze, and lilac purple. They also feel very soft in the pan. The final three are the shimmer browbone colors. I never wear a shimmery color on my browbone, it's just not for me. They are very shimmery though. There is a gold, light champagne, and rose color. I don't think they're meant to be super pigmented, as they are a browbone highlight, but do have a nice amount of color payoff.mthey aren't as soft as the others but they aren't gritty. These are swatched over bare skin.

As far as how they apply, I'm not blown away. I used them over painterly paint pot. It just doesn't have the best color payoff. I used the bronze lid shade, the purple lid shade above and in the crease. I added the shimmery gold shade on top of the bronze lid shade. I lined my upper lashes with the brown and blended it out, and lower lashes with the green liner shade. I love Wet n Wild, the other 6 pan color icon palettes were so amazing. The best drugstore eyeshadows I've used. This one just isn't as amazing to me. I think this palette would be good for someone who is just starting out with eyeshadows, as super pigmented shadows can be kind of intimidating. Also if you want something very affordable that will provide a light simple wash of color this would be good. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on these palettes. In my opinion, there are so many other wet n wild palettes I love. This one just doesn't top my list. The Color Icon trios and 6 pans i can't recommend enough!

There's me review for this palette! I hope you enjoyed it and found it helpful. Thank you so much for reading!
