NYX Butter Gloss- Eclair & Creme Brulee Review

Hi there! Today I wanted to tell you about two new glosses I got, the NYX Butter Glosses in Eclair and Creme Brulee. These came out forever ago, and everyone loves them.. I just put off trying them. I can't believe I did, I really love them! If you want to see swatches and my review, click below!

I was beyond thrilled to walk into a CVS the other day to see a huge NYX display. I knew NYX was coming to cvs but I didn't think it would be until later in the spring. The first thing I looked for was the butter glosses. I picked up two shades, Eclair and Creme Brulee. I paid 5 dollars for each of them. The color of the tube is pretty much true to the shade of gloss, which is great. Doe-foot applicator. They have an amazing, sweet dessert smell. It's not that overly fake vanilla scent, that gives me a headache. This is a pleasant, I-want -to-eat-it smell.

I can't even deal with the fact that this picture is blurry. Like, the whole point of this post of so you can see what the glosses look like. Such a fail I apologize!! But, as you can see Eclair is a nice light pink and Creme Brulee is a warm beige. Let's talk about the formula. It's not too thick and not too thin. It's not too sticky but not too slick. It's the perfect consistency for someone who is not really a gloss girl. It really does feel like butta on your lips. Mwah! I get around 3-4 hours of wear with these, if I don't eat or drink. Here's the only gripe I have..My lips are so damn pigmented. So these two lighter shades don't show up well on me. But! They look amazing when worn over a nude lipstick. I've been wearing them over MAC Fleshpot and really love how it looks. I plan on picking up some of the brighter shades, I think they would work a lot better for my lips.

Here is Eclair over Fleshpot. Excuse my goober face.

And from my Valentines post, Creme Brulee over Fleshpot.

I'm really happy with these glosses, even though they're more on the sheer side when worn alone. I love the formula, smell, packaging and how they look over my lipsticks! I can't wait to pick up a couple more! Have you tried these? What colors do you love?! Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed my post!

  3. I love those colors!! I don't think any of my nyx glosses are from the bitter gloss line!! I've always wanted to try them. I'm so sad there isn't a cvs where I live because I've never found nyx anywhere but ulta!!
