Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner "Glam Rock" Review

Hello hello! Today I want to do a quick review on an impulse purchase I made at Sephora. I haven't been to sephora all year, holy crap right? Well my cousin from the UP (Upper Penninsula to you non-Michiganders) was in town and had never been. So we took her on her first Sephora trip and had so much fun! She picked out this liner and when I saw it on her I knew I had to have it. If you want to see what I think of it, click below :)

Hair Care Haul+Review

Hi remember me? Probably not. I haven't blogged in probably.. A month. I've been super sucky at that. I've been in kind of a funk..but I'm getting out of it. I got a haircut which I think helped. Honestly my hair was so long it was getting difficult to function. I felt so frumpy..t's still really long, I just added some layers and got some actual style back to it. So in honor of my new haircut, I needed some new products. I'm going to do a mini review on these also, so if you'd like to know more.. Click below!

Sigma Brush Review

About a month ago I bought some new Sigma brushes. I have 2 full sets and they're hands down my favorite brushes. They're amazing quality, I've had my first set for close to four years and they're still in amazing shape. I decided to pick up some new brushes that I don't have anything similar to. If you'd like to see my review, click below!

Best Face Scrub-- Freeman Facial Polishing Scrub Charcoal & Black Sugar

Hi there. Today I wanted to tell you about a new face mask/scrub I've been using. It's by Freeman, which you can find at any CVS. It's the facial polishing charcoal and black sugar mask. What first caught my attention was 'charcoal' which is suppose to draw out impurities. Anyway, I gave it a shot and ended up really liking it.

That's probably the weirdest picture I have on my blog so far. But this is what it looks like. It's a black gel like consistency with little exfoliating beads. This stuff exfoliates amazingly, but it's not rough at all. How I use it: I Apply all over my face. Let it sit about five minutes then massage to exfoliate for a minute, rinse and pat dry! My skin is left super smooth and clean feeling. This is one of the best face scrubs I've used, it's so gentle but gives great results. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the lid is hard to snap shut. But besides that, it's awesome. AND it's only about 3$! If you're looking for a great, purifying face scrub this is your answer. Even if you're not, I still recommend you give this a try!

One of my goals this year is to take better care of my skin. My goal last year was to be consistent with removing my makeup and washing my face at night, and I did great with that! Now it's time to step it up. So I'm experimenting with more skincare products and I'm hoping to see improvements. I'll keep you guys updated :)

I hope you enjoyed this quick review, thank you so much for reading!! I appreciate you all :)

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette Review

Yes I've gone and done it. I said I wouldn't buy it but lookey here. I remember when I first saw the pictures floating around Instagram of this, I didn't like it. I thought it was tacky looking. Obviously I was quite wrong. It's completely amazing and beautiful.

My only gripe with this palette, I wish they would have changed the packaging. I mean, I can dig the metal case it's quite secure and everything. But I think it would have been neat if it differed from Naked 2. It's just not my favorite. But that's just me. The first Naked palette was warm toned, second was cool, and this is more rose-gold toned shadows. This of course comes with 12 new awesome shadows. All excellent quality, highly pigmented. A mixture of shimmer, mattes and sparkles. A dual ended brush, and samples of all their eyeshadow primer potions. A crowd pleaser all around.

Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick.

Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart

I also thought it might have been nice if they named the shadows something with more of a romantic theme.. Idk just spitballing here.. I still love this with all my being..

Click picture to make it bigger!

The only shadow I'm not so sure about is dust. It felt a little chalky to me. But none the less, it's pretty.

My favorites: Limit, Buzz, Nooner, Liar and Blackheart. Blackheart is like no shadow I've seen.. Black with tons of red sparkle. Amazing. Something else I noticed about these shadows, I didn't get a ton of fallout! I usually do get fallout with the shimmery UD shadows but from what I've seen, I have a lot less with this particular palette.

The brush included is the one on the bottom. I wanted to show you a comparison between the other brushes they've included in palettes. On top we have the vice 2 brush and the middle is Naked 2. As you can see, the right side has a small shader brush pretty much identical to the Naked 2 brush. The left side is more of a flat blending brush / large shader. It's really multipurpose if you ask me. I really like the fact that they changed the brush up! These brushes are always amazing quality!

So this palette is a definite winner in my book. I'm so glad I bought it, when I was checking out at Ulta, the lady behind me said she loved it so much! I was so excited to get home and play with it! I was not disappointed. I'm hoping to get a tutorial up with this palette soon, if the lighting cooperates with me! I hope you all enjoyed this post, thank you so much for reading!!

Makeup Geek Utopia Pigment Review

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. Were currently snowed in with almost a foot of snow! So what better time to blog. Today I want to review Makeup Geek Pigment in Utopia. I've seen so many people using it lately and it looked so beautiful I knew i needed it. I've loved Marlenas videos on youtube for so long and was excited to try her products out! I'm happy to say this did not dissapoint :)

Packaging: Plastic pot with a screw off black lid. You get about 2 grams of product. There is no sifter.

This particular pigment is one like I've never tried before. It's not a traditional loose powder pigment but more of a flaky shimmery glittery pigment. It's very light and fluffy to the touch. I'm not very accustomed to using pigments, so had to work with this a bit to get it. I found a method that works for me though.

Utopia without flash
Utopia with flash.

Gorgeous, right? I can't even.

I had such a hard time photographing the swatches. They really don't do this pigment justice but my eye look shows it better. So the swatch in the far left is done using nothing but the pigment itself. It kinda just went everywhere, not very effective. The next swatch is done by wetting the brush with the pigment on it. Much more effective but left a couple bumps where the pigment collected. The next swatch is done on top of a primer. It basically did the same thing as the wet method, clumped up a bit. They were easy to smooth out but I wouldn't want to deal with that on my lids. Which brings me to my last method. Eyelash glue. I spread a thin layer of lash glue down then applied the pigment. It came out much smoother, and lasted much longer. So in my opinion, lash glue is the way to go. Unless you have some kind of mixing medium, I however do not.

Here is the look I created! I used it on my lid only, the lower lashline is half baked by Urban Decay. You can really see just how beautiful this pigment is! I love it so much. I did get quite a bit of fallout with this but I expected that. If I plan on using this Ill just do my eyes first. I'm really happy with this product and can't wait to purchase some other MakeupGeek products! I paid 6.99 for this for Makeupgeek.com

Have you tried any makeup geek products? What should I pick up next?? :) I hope you all enjoyed this review and thank you so much for reading!

Kat Von D Eyeshadow Trio "Beyond Redemption" Review

Hello again! I'm here to do a review on a new Kat Von D product I picked up on sale at Sephora a few days ago. The True Romance Eyeshaodw Trio in Beyond Redemption.

It's no secret that I love the Kat Von D line, she has so many amazing products. My collection is growing! Also it's no secret that packaging gets me good, and that I'm in love with the band H.I.M. My first purchase from Kats line was the Everlasting Face Shaper Blush in the Shade Heartagram. The only reason I purchased that blush is because of the name (the heartagram is HIMs logo) it's a dark dusty rose color I probably wouldn't have picked up otherwise. I ended up loving it and I wear it all the time! Beyond Redemption is the name of a HIM song..this is another example of how names, packaging and being a crazy fan girl caused me to make a purchase!

Beyond Redemption is a trio of blue eyeshadows. A shimmer, a matte and a glitter shadow. The compact itself is just slightly bigger than a NARS blush so there is quite a lot of product inside. The packaging is plastic and features a clear top with roses and Kats logo. It's very light, but I wouldn't say it feels cheap. It's a push button to open, not loose at all and it closes very tightly. The packaging is win for me.

Onto the shadows.

First up is a shimmery ice blue color. This is my favorite, and it's my opinion the best quality shadow in the trio. It's very smooth and pigmented. Would look great on the inner corner of your eyes.

Next is a matte cornflower blue shade. This shadow is just as smooth, just not as pigmented. It's a bit patchy but you can smooth it out. I definately don't own a shade like this.

Finally we have a darker blue with silver glitter. I do not like this shade. I had to swatch it 3-4 times to get the color to show. The others I only swatched once. It feels gritty to the touch. It's just not very impressive. I'm not usually partial to glitter shadows anyway..

So, 2 out of 3 shadows are pretty good. I own the Ladybird palette, and all of those shadows are amazing. I've swatched many of her other palettes too and was always impressed. I found this little guy in the sale section of my Sephora, it was only ten dollars. Some people tend to stray away from blue eyeshadows, think Mimi from Drew Carey, but I love color and think you can always make it work! Even though this isn't a "blow me away amazing eyeshadow trio", I still like it. I'm just a collector and sometimes I buy things for crazy reasons! I'm sure some of you can relate :) I haven't gotten around to doing a look with some of these shadows yet, but I plan to soon and I'll definately share it with you guys! There are others in this True Romance Trio collection but I have not swatched them so I can't speak for their quality. I know there is a neutral/burgundy one and a green one.

Pros

Nice packaging

2 good shadows

On sale!

Good amount of product

Cons

Blues aren't very versatile

Dark shade is not impressive

And those are my thoughts on this product! I feel like I may have rambled but I was kind of torn on this product! I love it, but not for makeup reasons, haha! If you're curious about trying some Kat Von D eyeshadows, I'd recommend her 8 shadow palettes.

I hope you enjoyed my crazy review! Thank you so much for reading :)

Easy Bright Blue Liner

Hi there! It's been so long since I've posted an actual eye look, and I've really been anxious to! I went to Sephora to exchange a product the other day and walked out with the same product and this new bright blue liner. It's Urban Decays 24/7 liner in Electric. It. Is. Beautiful! I know this look has been done so many times by so many people, but I'm really enjoying it and thought you might like to see how I did it! It includes a mini review on the liner too :) I didn't take pictures of the actual steps, but it's very simple. So here we go!

Products used: Urban Decay Naked Basics, 24/7 Pencil in Electric & Maybelline Great Lash in Teal Appeal.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with these liners, they're some of my favorites! I use Perversion everyday. Electric is a bright turquoise/teal color with a slight sheen to it. It glides on so easily. It stays put it my waterline, but regardless I always set it a powder on my lower or upper lashline.

Please excuse my brows, dear god.

- I started with a primed lid and blended Naked 2 above the crease.

- Next I took faint and blended it right over Naked 2.

- I applied crave all over my lid, then took a tiny bit on the tip of a blending brush and blended it into Faint.

- Highlighted with a matte white shadow. I could have blended this a bit more, meh.

- I heavily lined my lower lash line with Electric, bringing it into my inner corner also. I set it with a translucent powder.

- I applied falsies and black mascara to the top lashes, and Teal Appeal to the bottom lashes!

And that's it! easy but bold and fun! I really love this liner. I've only ever owned zero, perversion and whiskey 24/7 liners but now I think I'll venture out into the other colors! I picked mine up at Sephora for 19$.

I hope you all liked my post, and thank you so much for reading!!
