Drugstore Haul

Hello! Today I have a drugstore haul for you. I went for one thing and came back with 5, it happens.

This is what I originally went to purchase. The Olay ProX Advanced Cleansing System Facial Brush. I've been on a "I need to take better care of my skin! " kick. I've wanted to try the Clarisonic brush for a long time but I really can't justify spending 125$ on it. My friend told me this works just as well, and it's only 30$. So I took a chance and bought it. Now I know the Clarisonic has different brushes for different skin types, and I'm pretty sure this one does not.. Which is a con. But I really just wanted to try one of these face scrubber brushes out and if I end up really loving it, maybe I will invest in the Clarisonic one day. I've used it twice, and felt my face had never been cleaner after using it! So I'm liking it so far :)

Next I got this Almay Brow Defining Pencil in Brunette. I've come to realize all the brow pencils I own are too light, so I needed one more fit for me. I usually use the Maybelline Define-a-brow..but they didn't have a shade any darker than medium brown, which I already have. I actually like this one better because it has a spoolie on the end as opposed to a little comb. Win.

I also picked up this Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Too Cool. I love these! I have another in Just Peachy, but i wanted the clear one for nighttime use. I own a ton of baby lips but these are by far my favorite because I feel they actually do something for my lips. I'll admit I bought most of the other ones because the packaging is too cute and they are very inexpensive. I love the menthol tingly cooling feeling these give me. I do feel my lips have softened so much since I bought these. I'll probably end up with them all because I'm nuts.

NYX single eyeshadow in White. If you read my ELF Haul, you'll know my favorite highlight shade is the matte white from the 1$ Drama Quad. You'll also know that I repurchased and was very disappointed because it's nothing like the original one I have.. So I bought this. It's not as great as my ELF one, but it works just fine for me! Plus is a ton more product and these are like, 4$.

Finally, this Sally Hansen polish in Green With Envy. Simply because it's Halloween time, and I do not own a lime green polish. And that, is reason enough for me! My poor, once beautiful fingernails, have suffered 4 losses this week and work. I'm trying to nurse them back to health so I can paint them this wonderful color. Wish me luck.

So there's my haul. I haven't posted in two and days and I'm slightly devastated but that. So I'm hoping to have another post up tonight. I have a few posts I'm working on but sometimes things just don't go in my favor! Oh well. I hope you guys enjoyed this!

Thanks so much for reading!!

Fall Nail Polish Fun!

I've been meaning to get this post up for a week or so but hey. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite polish colors for this time of the year!

Going from left to right..

1. Essie "No More Film" I love love this color. It's a super dark blue. Basically a blue black. I have it on my tootsies right now and it's just a great color, especially for fall!

2. Sinful Colors "Muse" I bought this polish last year around this same time, in a halloween display. I'm not sure if it's part of the regular line but sinful colors offers so many options I'm sure they have something just like it. I wore the heck out of this last year and I probably will again this year. It's a beautiful, dark, stone grey color.

3. Rimmel "Satin Black" I've talked about this before, just a great, black polish. It's so shiny you almost don't need a topcoat. It reminds me of shiny leather. Love it. Black nails are always an excellent choice in my eyes.

4. Revlon "Fashionista" This polish is so pretty I can't even! I've used so much of it. I'll need to get another bottle soon. It's a dark turquoise blue color. It's actually almost the exact same color as my living room, that's the only reason I bought it. Then I fell in love with it!

Sorry the picture is kind of crappy quality!

1. Essie "Rasberry" I actually talked about this polish in my favorite pink polishes for summer. It's just such a versatile color. It really is a true Rasberry color. I usually choose this over a red polish, it's more flattering on my skin. I get a lot of use out of this polish!

2. Revlon "Bold Sangria" This polishes name describes the color perfectly, bold sangria! It's such a dark, plum Berry color and I LOVE it. This color is always in for fall.

3. Wet n Wild "Haze of Love" What a cute name right? Wet n Wild always has cute names.. I bought this polish a couple years ago and have worn it a ton. It's a perfect red wine color! My bottle is almost empty! They did change the packaging of the megalast polishes and I much prefer the new bottle and brush so I will definitely be picking up a new bottle!

4. Revlon "Cayenne" This is a great polish! It's a metallic red with some gold tones to it. It's different from all my other red polishes. I wear it a lot around christmas time, it just puts me in the spirit!

So those are just some of my favorite fall polishes. I couldn't write a blog post with them all because it would include 500 nail polishes, not really..but seriously..

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I hope your enjoying fall so far! I know I am. I've been doing a lot of playing around with makeup and halloween looks and I really excited to show you all! I'd love to do a tutorial but it's so hard to show in pictures.. And I don't have an actual computer to edit any videos on..that's a work in progress! I'll do my best though!

Thanks so much for reading!!

Top Coat Battle Update!

Hey there! Today I'm going to give you an update on the top coat battle I posted about a week or so ago..you can see this post here!

So these pictures were taken 3 days after my original post. 3 days may not seem like much to most of you but it's pretty usual for my nail polish. My job makes my polish wear off pretty quickly. But it's fine with me, I like to change my polish often!

The photo below shows the hand with Out The Door..

And this one shows Seche Vite
If I had to pick a winner based solely on which one preformed better, I couldn't. It would really be a tie. Even though bases on the pictures Out The Door performed slightly better.. I'd like to give some pros and cons for both polishes.
Out The Door
-Out The Door has a very thin consistency, very liquidy.
-It does dry completely within about ten minutes.
-Leaves the nails very shiny.
-Keeps the polish relatively chip free for at least a few days, probably longer if you're not rough on your nails like I am!
-it's cheap! I've seen it from anywhere between 3-6 dollars!
Seche Vite
-Seche Vite is a very thick consistency, you're suppose to let it bead up on the base of your nail and spread an even coat across your whole nail.
-It dries completely in about 5 minutes.
-Leaves nails very shiny.
-Again, keeps polish from chipping for at least a few days for me.
-It is a little more costly. About $8.00 and about halfway through the bottle, it becomes very gooey and very hard to use without buying the polish thinner for it. Plus, since you use a pretty good amount with each manicure, you go through it pretty quickly. Especially if you paint your nails as often as I do!
So, I like that Seche Vite leaves a thick coat on your nails, and it does dry completely and hard quicker than the OTD does. However, you will go through the Seche Vite a lot quicker than the OTD, and since OTD is a lot cheaper..
I like them both! But I think for now, I will be using Out The Door. I still love Seche Vite, I just feel it's more cost effective for me to use Out The Door.
I hope some of you found this post informative! It was a fun experiment for me to do! What are some of your favorite topcoats!?
Thanks so much for reading!!

Nails Inc. Leather Effect Review!

So I was making an online Sephora purchase the other day and I needed to add about $6.00 to my cart to get free shipping, so of course I checked out the nail polish section. I wanted to try something new. When I came across this, I knew I had to have it! Textured polishes are the new thing, and so far they've been hit or miss for me. I tried a turquoise one from another brand and it may have just been the color, but it looked horrible on me. It was super gritty too, I couldn't handle it. When I looked up reviews on this polish, it seemed much less gritty and was totally awesome looking. So I added this to my cart for $11.00. It's totally worth it in my opinion. I got black, of course. You can't go wrong with a black leather jacket, same goes for nails!

Lets talk about the actual bottle first, so cute right? Speaks for itself. From Sephoras website: "This polish applies glossy but dries down into a chic leather look without the need for a topcoat." I have never tried any other Nails Inc polishes, but i always find myself swooning over them at Sephora. I'm so glad I finally decided to buy one! This polish really does look like leather! It obviously has a slight texture but it doesn't bother me at all! One coat and it was opaque! I'm totally in love. They have cream, coral, mint, gray and black shades. I plan on purchasing the gray shade as well, love gray leather. So if your interested in an awesome textured polish, I highly suggest this one!

I just love it. It makes me feel badass. Are you guys loving this textured polish trend? Thanks so much for reading!

Polish Post #2 Summer Pinks & Purples.

Today I bring you part 2 of yesterday's post about my favorite blue colors of summer; my pinks and purples. Honestly there is only one purple, but I felt it needed to be included in the title too. I'm really finicky about purple polishes. I have about ten and have yet to find a true purple polish that I like. Any of you ladies have recommendations? Let's get to it!

From left to right: China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Essie Peach Daiquiri, Orly Fancy Fuchsia, Covergirl Lav-endure.

First up on the pointer finger we have.. China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy."
This polish is summer in a bottle, no joke. It is so neon that it was hard to get a good  picture of it in the bottle. It is a super fluorescent coral color, very flattering on tan skin! Like all neons, it dries to a matte finish. Opaque in two coats. This is an essential polish to pick up for the summer time!

Next on the middle finger we have.. Essies "Peach Daiquiri."
This is a great polish to have because it is so versatile. I find I really don't like the look  of red polish on my fingers or toes, and this is a pink color but is so deep it almost looks red! i bought this on a whim a kohls because I saw they carried Essie and lets be real, I can't  leave a store without a new polish.. Anyway, I'm glad I did! It is an excellent color and would  really look so fly on anyone! Opaque in one coat, but again I always use two!

And on the ring finger....Orlys "Fancy Fuchsia."
This color rocks my socks! I swear I've had it for years and the consistency is still  awesome! It's a true Barbie pink, which you can never go wrong with! It dries matte, and is opaque in two coats. This is another polish I will wear if I want something I know will always look great. It's a classic in my collection. Every girl should own this polish.

And finally we have..Covergirls "Lav-Endure"
First of all I love the name of this polish! So cute! I feel you can never go wrong with a lavender polish. I own a few and I find this one to be the most flattering. It is super light Almost a "nude lavender" if you will. This one has great formulation and is opaque in two coats. If you're looking for a great lavender color, I suggest this one. It's super affordable too!

That does it for my Summer polish posts! I was thinking of doing a nude/neutrals post but i don't think it would be exciting. Maybe in the future! As always thanks so much for reading!!

Polish Post #1 The Blues of Summer

Hello again! Today I wanted to share a dark dramatic purple look I did, but of course my Internet is moving at turtle speed so that's a no go. Anywho I decided I would do a post of my favorite blue nail polishes for summertime. I'm not particularly a fan of only wearing certain colors for certain seasons, these are more of the ones I always reached for this past summer.
Pleaseeee excuse my gross cuticles..!!! My job dries my hands out like a s.o.b. I've recently bought a new cuticle cream that was working great but I seem to have misplaced it..

Starting at the pointer finger we have Essie's "Butler Please."
This is the perfect blue color. It really stands out on your nails. It dries to a matte finish so a topcoat is needed, unless you like that look.  It takes 2 coats to make it opaque. I would consider this one of my all time favorite nail polishes!

Middle finger we have Revlons "Coastal Surf."
Beautiful color! I always get so many compliments when I wear this polish. It's a bright blue/turquoise color.  It truly does remind me of the ocean. Great color for the summertime as it looks awesome with a tan and on your toesies. The formulation of this polish is fab. One coat and it is opaque but I always do two coats for any polish.

Ring finger we have Essie's "Where's My Chauffeur."
When this polish came out in Winter 2012 I knew I had to have it. It is from the same collection as "Butler Please." I didn't have any other color like it really and I'm glad i picked it up. It is a sea foam green/teal color. Opaque in two coats. Not as bright and in your face as the previous colors but superb none the less. This is one of the polishes I reach for when I'm not sure what color I want because I know it will always please me.

And finally on the pinky..Essie's "Mint Candy Apple."
If you read my last post you know I quite fancy this color. It's safe to say its my favorite polish of all time. You can't go wrong with this color. It's a gorgeous mint shade. I own a few other mint polishes and this one trumps them all. Opaque in two coats. I went for months not purchasing this posh because I had many similar shades but I took the plunge and got it and boy am I glad I did. If you don't own it, please go buy it! You won't regret it :) I plan on buying a backup soon!

Well that does it for my favorite blue polishes for summer. I'll be back tomorrow with my favorite pinks/purples. Nail polish is my serious addiction. I own more than I could ever use in ten lifetimes, and I always buy more. So expect a lot more polish posts from me! Thanks for reading!
